Belgrade, November 2023 – Tesla has been written a lot, talked about a lot, filmed a lot. However, some significant stories from his life remained untold. The Nikola Tesla Museum, as an institution whose primary function is to inherit Tesla’s legacy, decided that these stories would not remain untold. In the year behind us, the feature-documentary film Bežično was created.
This movie is much more than just another review of information. Analyzing the most important details from the life of Nikola Tesla, the film seeks an answer to the question of what wealth actually is and whether man is a being of matter or a being of spirit. Telling the story of one of the world’s greatest minds of all time, the film prompts us to question our own value systems and find the immortal within us.
The film combines rare archival footage, interviews with people who have dedicated their entire professional lives to the study of Nikola Tesla’s character and works, and scenes of reconstructions of the most significant moments from Tesla’s life. It was filmed in both English and Serbian, which will make the Museum a step forward in the presentation of domestic documentaries on the global market.
The focus of the film Wireless is precisely on the spirituality of Nikola Tesla and on the values that Tesla, as a child from an Orthodox Serbian priestly family, brought to the world. As such, in October of this year, it premiered in as many as four locations in the USA – Washington, Maryland, New York and Chicago. The reactions of the audience were incredible, some tears were shed, voices trembled, but it was clear and loud how proud we all were of perhaps the best among us who was also proud of his origin. The Belgrade premiere was held on November 23, 2023 in the Belgrade Youth Center. The prime minister was attended by high-ranking state officials and numerous representatives of the scientific, cultural and media scene of Serbia.
