Induction Motor with a Disk-Shaped Rotor
Corresponds to the model of the first induction motor that Tesla devised in Strasbourg, France, in 1883, when he worked for the Continental Edison Company.
The operation of the motor is based on Tesla’s ingenious application of the rotating magnetic field using poly-phase alternate currents, which he conceived of in February 1882 when in Budapest. Operated with a set for automatic control of working models. Visitors are allowed to start the model by pressing the green push-button.
