Tesla’s Pump
The first model of the Tesla pump with discs without blades on which he tested the new drive principle. From about 1908, Tesla was researching a new way of transferring energy from fluid to fluid. The forces of adhesion and viscosity, which the previous constructors sought to avoid, Tesla used as propulsion. In a specially constructed rotor of its turbines and pumps, a kind of fluid rotational field is created. Tesla’s pumps and turbines do not have pistons or blades in the impeller, but consist of parallel discs with central opening.
